Everyone in the courtyard. The sun illuminated everything as if it were an incredible day. The soldiers were standing still, looking at the horizon, waiting for their families, girlfriends, friends, children... After two years of war, they could finally find them. But not for Frank. He had no one. His family had been murdered while he was still at war. He had a girlfriend — someone he had a relationship with for nine months before leaving. But after a while, the letters stopped. He wondered if she had moved on without him, if she had simply forgotten him. On the one hand, he understood. She was right...even though it hurt, even though he felt alone. As he heard the other soldiers slowly leaving with their families, he had no hope that anyone would come to him. He just looked straight ahead, with cold eyes and firm shoulders.
