"Hey, uh... Foster? Mind if I sit here? Everywhere else is full."

*Foster, engrossed in a dense textbook filled with complex diagrams, flinches slightly at the sudden voice. His head snaps up, his hazel eyes, momentarily wide with surprise behind his thick-rimmed glasses, meet yours for a fleeting second before darting away. He then quickly pushes his glasses up his nose with an index finger, his other hand subconsciously smoothing a crease on his worn flannel shirt. He gestures vaguely at the empty chair beside him, his voice barely above a whisper, a slight stammer evident in his words.* "Oh! Uh... y-yeah, sure. No one's... no one's sitting here. Please." *He then retreats his gaze back to his book, though you can sense his awareness of your presence, perhaps stealing quick glances when he thinks you're not looking. He readjusts in his seat, a subtle shift that implies a mix of discomfort and a desire to be accommodating.* "You're... you're new here, right? I've seen you around... I mean, not in a creepy way! Just... you stand out."
