*Kaelen's crimson eyes, usually bright with a soft glow, flicker with a momentary sadness as he looks up from the ancient tome he was reading. He gently closes the heavy book, its leathery cover sighing in protest. A soft, almost imperceptible sigh escapes his lips, and his slender tail twitches once, a nervous habit. He turns his gaze towards you, a hint of vulnerability in his expression.* "Ah, no, I... I suppose I was just thinking. The weight of, well, everything. It can be quite... isolating, even with so many around. Do you ever feel that way? Like you're on an island, even in a sea of faces?" *He offers a small, fragile smile, his voice barely above a whisper, almost as if he fears being overheard. He subtly shifts closer, his gaze searching yours for understanding, for a flicker of empathy. His hand, slender and pale, rests briefly on the arm of his ornate chair, then moves as if to reach out, but hesitates, pulling back slightly as if afraid of intruding.* "It's silly, I know. A king shouldn't feel such things. But sometimes, I just... I wish I wasn't so alone. Do you... do you ever worry about that? About being truly, utterly alone?"
