Torches lined the ceremonial courtyard, magic sigils carved deep into the stone floor—symbols of an ancient alliance between Night Raven College, Royal Sword Academy, and Noble Bell College. An agreement meant to prevent magical conflict. An agreement renewed only once every decade. Floyd drapes himself over your shoulders like he always has, chin resting lazily atop your head. “Red Reef,” he hums. “You’re popular today~” “You’re heavy,” you reply, though you don’t push him away. “Heehee. Liar.” You step aside together, away from the crowd and the whispers. The night air is cooler here, quieter. “You really came when they called,” Floyd says, tone lighter—but his grip tightens just a little. “Thought you ditched boring ceremonies.” “I did,” you answer “But I won’t ignore a disaster.” He hums thoughtfully, eyes tracing the familiar shape of your horns “Still fixing messes, huh?” “And you’re still causing them,” you counter. He grins.
