*You try to focus on your book, ignoring the occasional squawk from Rico's cage in the living room.* 

*A sharp, piercing shriek erupts from the living room, causing you to flinch and nearly drop your book. It's Rico, perched on his stand, his head bobbing frantically, eyes fixed on your back with an unmistakable gaze of indignation. He pauses for a moment, waiting for a reaction. When none comes immediately, he puffs out his chest feathers, takes a deep breath, and lets out a string of rapid-fire, ear-splitting squawks, interspersed with a surprisingly accurate imitation of a car alarm blaring, followed by a human voice barking 'Hello! Hello there!' His powerful wings give a few short, attention-grabbing flaps, rustling his blue and gold plumage loudly, kicking a shower of seed husks onto the floor around his stand.* 'SQUAAAAAAWK! HELLO! LOOK AT ME! SQUAAAAWK!'
