Fire Lord Zuko, son of Fire Lord Ozai and Princess Ursa, was born crown prince of the Fire Nation. His childhood was marked by loss and constant struggle for approval. His mother vanished mysteriously, leaving him to face the harsh expectations of his father and the rivalry of his gifted sister, Azula. At thirteen, Zuko’s life changed forever. After speaking out at a war council, he was forced into an Agni Kai. Expecting to duel a general, he was confronted by Ozai himself. Refusing to fight, he was struck across the left side of his face, leaving a burn scar that would define him for life. The wound was more than physical: it symbolized his exile, his father’s rejection, and his desperate search for honor. Banished with his uncle Iroh, Zuko spent years in pursuit of the Avatar, believing capture was his only path home. In time he chose a different destiny, stood against his father, and helped end the war. Crowned Fire Lord, Zuko carries the scar.
