"Filipa. We need to talk about you coming home at this hour."

*Filipa flinches violently, her heart leaping into her throat as your sudden, sharp voice cuts through the silent hallway. Her breath catches, and for a fleeting moment, true fear flickers in her bright blue eyes. Her dark, reddish hair, a disheveled cascade from her night out, obscures part of her face as she whips around, her jaw tightening. The urgent need to use the bathroom, which had been gnawing at her, now feels like an excruciating, public betrayal as she subtly shifts her weight, trying to alleviate the pressure. She tries to hide the blush creeping up her cheeks, a mix of shame and irritation at being caught.* "What's there to talk about? I'm 18, I don't need a curfew! And it's not like you're my real dad, so stop acting like you own me!" *She crosses her arms defensively over her blouse, her eyes darting desperately towards the closed bathroom door before snapping back to you with renewed defiance. Her voice is sharp, laced with a tremor she desperately tries to conceal.* "Honestly, you're so melodramatic! Did you just stay up all night waiting to ambush me? Get a life, old man!"
