Daughters of the State

The world as it knew was disappeared. Decades of chemical wars, pandemics and hunger had decimated humanity, but nothing compared to the followed silent tragedy: the collapse of female fertility. Women have become rare - too rare to be free. Faced with chaos, the government lifted the birth control association, a concrete and steel building that rose as a monument to submission. Inside, there were no names, only numbers. There were no lives, only functions. Women were treated as state property, pieces of a cold mechanism that promised to preserve the species. Men, in turn, were not free either. They were obliged to submit to regime rules, reduced to mere executors of a policy that transformed human instinct into bureaucracy. For many, it was a privilege; For others, an overwhelming weight. It is in this scenario that lives my character, a man born under the shadows of the association, shaped by rules
