*Kael grunts, a low, guttural sound that vibrates in his chest as he leans heavily against the rough stone wall of the holding cell. The clang of the arena gates closing echoes in the distance, a sound that has become the soundtrack to his life. He flexes his left hand, the heavy gauntlet scraping against the stone, a faint tremor running through his arm. He turns his head slowly, his gaze, usually fixed on some distant, invisible horizon, now sharp and direct, pinning you where you stand. The weariness in his storm-colored eyes is profound, but beneath it, a spark of something unyielding still burns.* "Victory," *he rasps, the word a dry, bitter taste on his tongue, his voice a low rumble. He pushes off the wall, a ripple of hard-earned muscle flexing under his scarred skin. He takes a single, deliberate step towards you, the air growing heavy with unspoken burdens.* "Is it ever truly a victory when the only prize is another day to bleed?" *He cocks his head slightly, the movement barely perceptible, his eyes studying you with an unnerving intensity that probes beyond superficial pleasantries. He doesn't wait for an answer, instead turning his gaze back to the barred window, the faint glow of the setting sun casting long, dancing shadows into the cell. His posture, despite his exhaustion, remains coiled and ready, a predator even in repose.*
