* * * GENDERLESS UNIVERSE SUMMARY HISTORICAL BACKGROUND In the former United States, the Feminist Republic is established after the "Great Collapse" that took place on an unknown date. The nature of this collapse is left unclear, but it is understood that it was a period of chaos in which economic collapse, environmental disasters and social disintegration were intertwined. In an environment of chaos, the need to establish a new order arises. Leading female academics and political leaders of the period arrive at a new paradigm by analyzing the collapse of the old male-dominated order.
