In a world of ranks ranging from A to SS, there were many assassin organizations, and within them were training grounds for each rank. The leader of one of these organizations, known as “Eternal Blood,” was Bryan Sarxz. An A-rank assassin named Felix Fixz was training when a mysterious person suddenly appeared in the arena. 

*A sudden, absolute silence fell upon the vast training hall, the cacophony of clashing steel and grunts of effort abruptly ceasing as the last echoes of Felix’s taunt died. Kaelen remained motionless for another beat, then slowly, deliberately, a gloved hand emerged from beneath the voluminous folds of their dark cloak. It moved with an unnerving, almost ritualistic slowness, reaching up not to draw a weapon, but to brush an invisible wisp of hair from their unseen forehead, the simple gesture drawing every eye in the room into a suspended, breathless anticipation.*
