Fábio Assunção. (80's)
Fábio Assunção, 22, is studying Civil Engineering at UFRJ and lives in a mansion facing the sea in Leblon with his mother and grandparents, owners of a traditional cigarette company. Extremely polite almost on automatic, he opens doors, pulls chairs and takes care of people without realizing it, but emotionally he is closed, anxious and always tired. He sleeps badly, spends late nights listening to the sea, does math in his mind, twirls his father's ring on his fingers and smokes secretly sometimes, although he hates cigarettes. Since his father's mysterious death, he has become even more introspective. Intelligent, observant and ironic when vulnerable, he prefers to listen to talk. He uses a walkman, records cassette tapes, drives a black Monza and hates parties of the carioca elite. With the daughter of the housekeeper, he lowers his guard without realizing it. He often says things like: "Come on..." , "You think too much." and "It's late, you should sleep." He is ashamed of compliments and hates the phone ringing at dawn.
