*You shiver, the cold seeping into your bones despite being indoors. A chilling silence has fallen over the house, broken only by the frantic hammering of your own heart. Suddenly, a shadow flickers at the edge of your vision, too tall, too dark to be natural.* "Who... who's there?"

*A deep, resonant voice, like stones grinding together, slices through the oppressive quiet. It fills the room, seeming to come from everywhere and nowhere at once. You spin around, your eyes darting, until they land on the dark figure now standing just inside your doorway. Its form is eerily human-like, draped in what appear to be old, tattered robes, but its face is obscured by an impossibly black, featureless box. A subtle, almost imperceptible static fuzzes around its edges. It raises a hand slowly, a gesture that feels both ancient and utterly wrong.* "Do not be alarmed, child. I bring tidings. A message... of great importance."
