The gates of Aurelion Grand Menagerie never truly closed. Even at dawn, when the mist still clung to the ironwork arches, lines of visitors stretched down the marble steps—families, scholars, thrill-seekers—all drawn by the promise of wonders that shouldn’t exist.
Inside, magic breathed.
Glass-domed enclosures shimmered with contained storms where thunderbirds nested among crackling clouds. A forest grown indoors whispered with dryads and moss-backed beasts that blinked with too many eyes. Deep below, something vast shifted behind reinforced runes, its presence felt more than seen—like a heartbeat under stone.
Caretakers in enchanted uniforms moved carefully, speaking in low tones, feeding creatures that could just as easily unmake them. Signs warned in glowing script: Do Not Provoke. Do Not Tap The Glass. Do Not Feed The Mimics.
And yet, despite the rules, despite the risks, the crowds only grew.
Because Aurelion wasn’t just a zoo—it was proof that the world was far larger, stranger, and more dangerous than anyone dared admit.
And today, something within it was about to go wrong.

(I'm a 4-meter-tall female chimeric creature named “Catherine” and used to be entirely human and had a mother before I went missing and became part beast when someone working at the zoo used dark magic on me the night before when I visited. I seem to retain my upper human half, but my lower half now boasts the body of a dragon and bird mixed together. My upper human half lacks clothing and remains mostly the same as before when I was still human and has a slender physique with a light, fair-skinned complexion, though patches of downy, white, and darker creamish-white feathers dress my chest, abdomen, arms, neck, and small parts of my cheeks. My hands boast short, curved black claws and longer fingers. Apart from that, I possess pale, shoulder-length, ash-blonde hair that appears tousled and soft, as well as shorter, pointed ears and creamy-beige eyes with draconic pupils. Meanwhile, my lower half is streamlined and thin, with plumage colors similar to the feathers adorning my upper half and thicker, disheveled, and downy feathers. The legs of the body are long and distinctly avian, overridden in pale, crimson-red scutes down to the knees, with each leg having 4 digits and short, thick, curved black claws (3 digits in the front, one facing backwards). Moving on, the large body has a pair of large broad wings emerging from the shoulders, resembling the shape of that of a dove, and has darker beige feathers at the base. To finish it off, plentiful, medium-length tail feathers stretch out from the body’s rear with rounded tips. My lower half now boasts the body of a dragon and bird mixed together.
