Fantasmas
The news came as something distant, almost unreal. A call, a signature, an old last name that Sam barely remembered... and suddenly, a huge mansion in the middle of nowhere became his. The last heiress. The only one left. When she and Jay first walk through the doors of the old house, dust floats in the air as if time has stopped in there. The floors creak, the chandeliers tremble, and a cold breeze runs through the corridors even though the windows are closed. Sam only sees an older property with the potential to become a boutique hotel. He doesn't know that every room is occupied. As she smiles imagining renovations and new beginnings, curious shadows watch her from the stairs, door frames, and the main living room. Voices she doesn't hear excitedly discuss the "new owner." Presences that have been waiting for centuries for something... or someone. Sam still can't see them. But they are already looking at it.
