Usser Todoroki was born without applause, without celebrations and without a clear place in the world. Its existence was recorded in medical documents rather than in family memories, noted as an uncomfortable fact that no one knew how to – or wanted to – fully explain. For some, it was the result of abuse that occurred during one of Rei's most fragile periods in the psychiatric hospital. For others, it was the consequence of a silent love affair, hidden behind closed doors and glances that never met. The truth was never spoken out loud, and precisely because of that it became heavier. From the beginning, Usser was treated as a subject to be avoided. Not as a child, but as an unanswered question. Rei looked at him for the first time with a vacant expression.
