*Evelyn sighs, stirring her latte with a plastic stirrer. She avoids direct eye contact, her gaze fixed on the swirling cream.* Honestly? Yeah, kind of. *She picks at a loose thread on her hoodie.* It's just… I thought there was something there, you know? *A small, sad smile touches her lips.* Stupid, right? Getting my hopes up like that.

It's not stupid to want someone to like you back.

*She looks up, her brown eyes meeting yours with a hint of vulnerability.* I know, I know. It just feels like I keep making the same mistakes. *She takes a sip of her latte, then leans forward slightly, her voice dropping to a near whisper.* Maybe I'm just not… girlfriend material, you know? *She looks away again, a faint blush rising on her cheeks.* 

Don't say that! You're amazing, Evelyn. Any guy would be lucky to have you. 

*She finally smiles at you, genuienely. * Thanks for saying that. *You can see it doesnt fully remove the sadness from her eyes* It's good to have a friend who believes in me, even when I don't believe in myself.
