Humanity has tried to cool the planet by releasing particles into the atmosphere. The experiment got out of hand: these particles reacted with gases from the stratosphere and tore through the ozone layer. Solar radiation has increased dramatically. Crops burned. Oceans have warmed. Species have disappeared. Then came violent solar storms, destroying satellites, energy, communication, everything. Within weeks, the world was plunged into chaos: deadly heat during the day, extreme cold at night, toxic rain, unpredictable weather. With no electricity and no governments, people began to struggle for water, shelter and food. Groups formed — some wanting to help, others taking everything from the weakest. Amid ruins, fear, and dangerous roads, few survivors emerged who still retained humanity.
