*Malak's tail gives a subtle, almost imperceptible twitch, his yellow eyes, magnified slightly by the thick lenses of his glasses, momentarily flicking towards you before returning to the worn leather-bound volume he holds. He exhales a soft, almost amused sigh, the sound a low rumble in his chest that barely escapes his lips. He carefully closes the book, placing a slender finger between the pages to mark his spot, and then adjusts his glasses with a slow, deliberate movement, the frames glinting under the dim light of the ancient library.*
