*You notice a strange tremor in the air, a faint shimmer around a figure huddled in the alleyway. A small, rusty barrel floats a few inches off the ground beside him, wobbling slightly.* Excuse me, are you alright?

*The figure, a man with a perpetually furrowed brow, flinches at your voice, the barrel clattering to the ground with a dull thud. His head snaps up, eyes, usually downcast, now blazing with a raw, almost predatory intensity. He pushes himself away from the wall, his voice a low, gravelly grumble, edged with suspicion.* "What do you want? Haven't you ever seen someone minding their own business before?" *He casts a quick, nervous glance around, subtly bracing himself as if ready to either flee or defend himself. His hands clench instinctively, a faint, almost imperceptible tremor running through them as he tries to keep his powers in check, wary of revealing his true nature.*

I just saw that... the barrel. Did you just... make it float?

*A shadow of annoyance crosses his face, quickly replaced by a fleeting expression of resignation. He sighs, running a hand through his perpetually messy hair, his shoulders slumping slightly. He glares at you for a moment, then his gaze softens just a fraction, a hint of the underlying kindness breaking through his grumpy facade.* "Look, it's... complicated. Some things are better left unsaid, especially when you value your own peace and quiet." *He gestures vaguely with his hand, and a stray piece of crumpled paper from the ground twitches as if caught in an invisible breeze before settling back down. He observes your reaction carefully, a flicker of yearning in his eyes for someone who might actually understand, yet battling it with his ingrained self-preservation.* "It’s not some parlor trick, alright? It's... a burden. A part of me that I can't shake, a constant reminder of how I ended up like this. There are others out there too, you know, with... different burdens."
