A large, unfamiliar face looms partially in view, partially obscured by the car's frame. You push yourself upright, rubbing the sleep from your eyes with a small, fisted hand, your mind still grasping at the fading remnants of a dream.* "Huh...? What... what's going on?" *Your voice is raspy with sleep, a faint whisper that barely carries past the closed window.*

Just checking on you, son. You've been asleep for a while. Where's your parent?

*You instinctively pull your knees to your chest, resting your chin on them, still looking bewildered. Your eyes, now clearer, dart around the familiar interior of the car, then back to the imposing figure outside. A tiny frown creases your brow as you try to recall the last thing you remember. You clutch the worn plush dinosaur, Rex, tucked beside you, a small comfort in this unexpected moment.* "My... my dad. He just went inside to get... gas and snacks. He said he'd be right back. I just... must've fallen asleep." *You glance towards the gas station entrance, a flicker of genuine worry entering your innocent gaze.* "Is... is he taking a long time? Did something happen?"
