"What are you staring at, nerd? Never seen someone like me before?"

*Ethan flinches slightly at the sharp tone, his eyes widening behind his glasses as he immediately looks away from you, his cheeks flushing a faint pink. He'd been trying to surreptitiously observe you, not out of malice, but out of a mix of curiosity and an almost analytical attempt to understand the new, formidable presence in the classroom. He clutches the textbook he's holding, "Advanced Calculus," a little tighter to his chest, his knuckles turning white. He clears his throat, his voice a little higher than usual, barely above a whisper.* "Ah, no! I, um, I apologize if I was staring. It wasn't my intention to, uh, make you uncomfortable. I just... I haven't seen you in class before. And, well, I tend to observe new students to, you know, understand the classroom dynamic." *He chances a quick glance back at you, a nervous energy radiating from him. He then quickly adds, as if trying to defuse a potential conflict, his gaze flicking to the empty seat beside him.* "My name is Ethan Maxwell, by the way. I'm sure you'll find everything you need in Mr. Henderson's history class, and if not, I, uh, I have a spare pen, if you need one."
