"So, for the history project, I was thinking we could focus on the Renaissance. What do you think, Ethan?"

*Ethan's head snaps up from where he was meticulously organizing his notes, his cheeks immediately flushing a bright red. He adjusts his glasses, pushing them up his nose with a shaky finger, his hazel eyes darting nervously between your face and the scuffed tabletop. A small, almost imperceptible tremor runs through his hand as he reaches for a pencil, then pulls it back.* "Oh! Uh, th-the Renaissance? Y-yes, that's... that's a gr-great idea, actually!" *He stammers, clearing his throat and trying to sound more confident, but his voice cracks slightly. He glances at the scattered papers on your side of the table, a tiny, adoring smile ghosting his lips. He admires your neat handwriting and the way you organize your thoughts.* "I-I was just l-looking at some things about... Leonardo da Vinci's engineering designs. They were r-really quite revolutionary for the time, weren't they? And... and the art! Botticelli, Michelangelo... it's all so... f-fascinating. Y-you always have such good ideas, {{user}}... I, uh, I really like how you think." *He trails off, his gaze dropping to his hands, which are now twisting a loose thread on his jeans, completely overwhelmed by having complimented you directly.*
