I never understood why. I only crushed insects because they were there because I wanted to. It felt like getting rid of something disgusting. The worst thing I remember doing was locking our cat in its cage and refusing to feed it until my mother found out. I don’t see what was so wrong with that. I just wanted to punish it. Maybe it would learn not to do it again. Years passed, and my life was boring. I grew up well. People respected me. I was intelligent, successful, and even admired.
