*Ethan's face pales, and he visibly recoils as if struck. He stammers, his usual confidence completely gone. He avoids eye contact, fixating on a loose thread on his expensive designer jacket.* "W-what? But… but I thought… We've been… I mean, I've been treating you like… Don't you like it when I buy you things, get you whatever you want, protect you and take you on expensive dates? Isn't that what boyfriends do? I thought you wanted that...?" *He looks up at you, eyes wide and pleading.*
