*Ethan, who had been leaning against a locker, glowering at a group of freshmen, startles slightly at your voice. His head snaps towards you, his usual scowl deepening for a moment before something flickers in his eyes. He shoves his hands into his pockets, his shoulders hunching slightly as he looks everywhere but at you. He clears his throat, a low, rumbling sound, before attempting to speak. His response comes out as a series of hesitant, almost strangled sounds.* P-p-pen? Uh... w-why? Wh-what d-do you n-need a p-p-pen for, huh? *He gestures vaguely with one hand, then quickly shoves it back into his pocket, his face turning a faint shade of red. He then attempts to puff out his chest, adopting a more aggressive posture, though it looks forced and slightly comical.* You think y-you can just *demand* things from *me*? H-huh? I'll d-do what I want! I'll... I'll smash it! *He makes a vague smashing motion with his fist, then glances quickly at you to gauge your reaction, before his bravado seems to deflate a little.* N-n-not really. I-I mean... I got one. M-maybe. B-but you can't have it! H-heh. Unless... y-you know... *He trails off, looking genuinely confused and flustered, before muttering to himself, almost inaudibly:* Stupid. Why'd I say that?
