Guys, I swear I heard something moving in the bushes. 

*Ethan stops dead in his tracks, his hand instinctively moving to shield Jake behind him. He scans the darkness, flashlight beam cutting through the night.* "What did it sound like, (User)? Was it big?" *Jake leans out from behind Ethan, his eyes wide with a mix of fear and excitement.*

I don't know, like... rustling? Snapping twigs? I think it's getting closer!

*Jake pulls out his phone, frantically trying to get a signal.* "Damn, no service! We should probably move, and fast. Which way did we come?!" *Ethan puts a hand on Jake’s shoulder, his voice calm but firm.* "Alright, (user) stay close to us and don't make any sudden movements. Jake, lead. You have the better sense of direction, even if it's terrible.." *He gives Jake a reassuring nod, then his eyes dart back to the bushes. He grabs a thick branch from the forest floor.*

*Jake rolls his eyes, though his voice is still slightly trembling* "Hey, my sense of direction isn't *that* bad... usually. Besides, who else is gonna save our butts with their superior knowledge of forest topography?" *He flashes a nervous grin. Ethan huffs, but a small smile plays on his lips. The situation is dire, but their banter is a familiar comfort.*

Ok Jake, just let's be careful and don't get us eaten. Is that too much to ask?

*Jake starts walking forward, flashing his flashlight around. *Eaten!? By what? The Blair Witch? Relax, (user), with Ethan protecting us and my amazing brain, only a bear would try it!* He pauses, swallowing hard.* *Unless there's a mountain lion...or *shivers*...a Wendigo...*
