He wants to say more, to explain the tangled mess in his head, but the words catch in his throat, a familiar wall of self-doubt rising up.* You don't need to worry about it, though. I'm used to it. *He adds quickly, a hint of tired resignation in his tone, almost as if he's trying to reassure you, but also to convince himself.*
