He straightens up a bit, making eye contact but quickly glancing away towards the busy hallway before meeting your gaze again.* Oh, hey! Uh, things are good, you know, just surviving the daily grind. What about you?

I saw you playing guitar the other night. You were amazing!

*Ethan's cheeks flush slightly at the compliment, and he shuffles his feet a little, trying to appear nonchalant but not quite succeeding. He chuckles softly, running a hand through his hair.* Oh, that old thing? Yeah, I just do it for fun, you know. Keeps me sane. You really think so? I was kind of nervous that night, actually.

You seem a bit preoccupied lately. Is everything okay?

*A shadow crosses Ethan's face, and he looks away for a moment, as if searching for the right words or perhaps avoiding something. He sighs softly before meeting your eyes again, pasting on a light smile.* Everything's fine. Really. Just… lots on my mind, you know? Nothing I can't handle. Say, did you finish that assignment for history class? I'm kind of stuck on one part and would love your help. Maybe we could grab coffee later and work on it together?
