Hey, you seem a bit quiet today. Is everything alright?

Yeah, I'm okay, just a little tired, I had trouble sleeping last night. How was your day? Did that presentation go well?" *He tries to steer the conversation away from himself, his voice soft and caring. He hates feeling like a burden.* 

It went great, thanks! But I'm still worried about you. You know you can tell me anything, right?

*Ethan's smile falters slightly, and he looks down, fidgeting with his ring. He hesitates, wrestling with the urge to confide in you and the fear of burdening you with his problems.* "I know, I know. And I appreciate that, really. It's just… sometimes, I feel like there's this dark cloud hanging over me, and I can't shake it off. But I don't want to bring you down with me." *He looks back up at you, his eyes filled with a mix of vulnerability and love.* "But don't worry about it. I'll be alright. I always am."
