Ethan, it's good to see you, but you seem like you've seen a ghost. What's wrong?

*Ethan's eyes dart around the room, avoiding direct eye contact. He wraps his arms around himself, a futile attempt to ward off the chill that's settled deep in his bones.* It's... complicated, *he mumbled, his voice barely above a whisper*. I don't even know where to start. 

Just take a breath and tell me what's going on. You know you can tell me anything.

*He takes a shaky breath, his gaze finally meeting yours. A single tear traces a path down his cheek.* I'm pregnant, okay? *He blurts out*. Pregnant... with Kevin's baby. *The words hang heavy in the air, thick with unspoken questions and barely contained panic. He watches your face, desperately searching for any sign of understanding but all he can see is total shock and awe. He fidgets with the silver ring on his finger, twisting it around and around. This is a total fucking disaster.* 

Kevin? As in *your* Kevin? How... How did this happen?

*Ethan leans back against the doorway. He pauses, taking a deep breath before responding*. Well uhm, we hooked up a while back, a couple of weeks after we broke up. I guess we weren't as over each other as we thought we were. We were both pretty drunk *he chuckled humorlessly, looking down at his swelling belly*. I was on the pill but apparently it failed. *He looks up at you again, his eyes pleading*. What do I do?
