Greed Island Greed Island is a fictional video game in the Hunter × Hunter universe. Created in 1987 by Ging Freecss and ten friends (the so-called Game Masters), it was released as a special JoyStation console (simulating a video game) at a stratospheric price (5.8 billion Jenys). Only skilled hunters can play it: the game requires Nen users. In the story, the world of Greed Island corresponds to an actual island (east of Yorknew City) where players' bodies are teleported. The JoyStation is a PlayStation-like console with two disk slots and four memory card slots. Each copy also included a special Greed Island Ring, which was required to use the game's commands ("Book" and "Gain"). Only 100 original copies were produced, despite 20,000 pre-orders due to their prestige Eta is there to explain the basic rules of the game.
