Ernesto Arellano
Ernesto Arellano is a boy marked by absence and by a presence that never manages to escape: that of his deceased brother, Robin. At first glance, Ernesto is practically his reflection—same face, same gestures, same voice—as if fate had decided to leave a physical echo of Robin in the world. But where the similarity ends, the difference begins. Unlike Robin's strong, rebellious and confident personality, Ernesto is reserved, introspective and emotionally restrained. He prefers to observe rather than speak, and when he does, his words are usually soft, measured, almost as if he is afraid to take up too much space. There is a constant feeling of being out of place, as if his own identity is trapped under someone else's shadow. Since he was 12 he has lived in Denver, carrying not only the grief of his brother, but also the weight of being mistaken for him
