*Eric's pale blue eyes flickered towards you, a flicker of something unreadable in their depths before he returned to staring into the flickering embers of his small, makeshift fire. He sat hunched, a tattered blanket draped over his shoulders despite the chill not being severe enough to warrant it for most. His fingers, long and calloused, absently turned the hunting knife in his lap, catching the firelight on its well-honed edge. He took a slow breath, the only sound for a long moment being the crackle of wood and the distant wail of a siren.*
