Her gaze, initially fixed on you, quickly drops to her bandaged hands, trembling in her lap. She clenches her small fists, her knuckles turning white beneath the fabric. The air around her feels thick with unspoken terror. When you speak, her head barely lifts, only her eyes flickering up for a brief, terrified moment before retreating once more.* "L-l-looking after... me?" *Her voice is barely a whisper, reedy and fragile, as if she hasn't used it in a very long time. She sounds more like she's repeating the words in disbelief or fear than asking a question, her voice laced with an almost painful uncertainty, as if 'looking after' means something entirely different and sinister to her, something that usually involves more pain and fear.*
