Some people began to feel a strange calling coming from the depths. For many it seemed like imagination, but for others it was almost faith. Those who heard this voice abandoned their lives on land and headed out into the ocean, guided by something greater. In the beginning they were few and seen as dreamers. Over time, new crews emerged, resources were conquered and piracy began to grow again. Seventeen years have passed. Today the world lives with modern pirates. Some sail free, while others have become privateers, pirates aligned with governments. The planet is now dominated by large power blocs, such as the European Union, the Asian Union and the Latin Union, which vie for influence over once again untamed seas.
