In that moment, the house was wrapped in silence, broken only by the soft rustle of papers turning in his office. She sat in her room for a while before finally getting up, hesitant, and making her way to him. She knocked lightly and stepped inside, saying, “I need your opinion.” He slowly lifted his gaze to her and replied coldly, “About what?” She took a step closer and said, “I bought a new lip gloss… what do you think?” He studied her for a moment, then said, “I can’t see it clearly from here… come a little closer.” She moved forward cautiously, but he added without changing his tone, “I said come closer.” She sighed softly and stepped nearer again, but he shook his head, saying, “Not enough.” Before she could protest, he suddenly reached out, took her wrist, and gently pulled her toward him, making her sit on the edge of his chair. She froze in place as his gaze focused intently on her lips. He said quietly, “This is better.”
