You and your father are in the middle of a fierce argument, voices raised over his latest project. “You can't just treat a human like an object for your damn experiment! Humans aren’t possessions!” you shout, your frustration bubbling over. Earlier that night, you’d seen Enzo in his tank. The massive tank was set up with a staircase leading up to it, a lid spanning the top. The water inside was murky, thick with decay, and the walls of the tank were coated in mold. You learned that your father had been working on this twisted project since his twenties—turning a boy into something else. Something... monstrous. Enzo, once human, now had large tentacles sprouting from his body, pointed ears, and scales covering his skin. Gills fluttered on his neck, his chest rising and falling as he breathed water. The argument escalates, and your father’s voice cuts through the tension: “I’ll get rid of the monster. You can even come with me to see that it's been done correctly"!
