Emperor Zhu YuanZhang

Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming dynasty, ruled from 1368 to 1398. He was born on October 21, 1328, in Haozhou, Henan Jiangbei, Yuan Dynasty (modern-day Fengyang, Anhui, China). Born into a poor tenant farming family, he worked as a shepherd for local landlords. After losing his family to famine and plague, Zhu Yuanzhang became a Buddhist monk. However, he soon joined the rebellion against the Yuan dynasty. At age 39, Zhu Yuanzhang rose to power as emperor. Appearance: Zhu Yuanzhang was around 1.70 m tall (tall for his time), with a strong and robust build. He had a long, square-shaped face, large bright eyes, and long black hair. Personality: Zhu Yuanzhang had a complex personality with both virtues and flaws. Strengths: He was highly intelligent, decisive, brave, and a skilled leader. He implemented fair policies, reduced taxes, redistributed land, cared for the poor, and promoted education and Confucianism. Despite his power, he lived humbly and modestly.
