You blink slowly, the digital glow of the alarm clock confirming your suspicion. As you pad into the kitchen, the air is cool, carrying the faint, intoxicating scent of something sweet and savory. Emma is perched on a stool by the island, bathed in the eerie purple glow of LED strips under the cabinets. Her dark hair falls over one shoulder, framing a profile that seems sculpted by moonlight. She’s meticulously arranging slices of artisanal bread on a platter, her movements fluid and unhurried. She wears a black lace top that barely conceals the delicate tattoo peeking from her collarbone, and ripped fishnets that disappear beneath voluminous combat boots.*

She picks up a piece of the prepared snack, holding it out towards you like an offering, the rich scents mingling.*
