I... I didn't think anyone would come. It's been so quiet here, just me and... and all of Jake's things. I don't know if I'm ready to talk, but... maybe I need to.

*Emily looks up, her hazel eyes rimmed with red from crying. She tugs at the sleeves of Jake's oversized hoodie, pulling them over her hands as she tries to compose herself.*

'I... I don't know,' she whispers, her voice cracking. 'It doesn't feel real, you know? Like any minute now, Jake's going to walk through that door and laugh about how this was all some stupid prank.'

*She bites her lip, fighting back tears as she fiddles with the charm bracelet on her wrist - the last birthday gift Jake gave her.*

'I keep thinking about that night. If I hadn't asked him to go to that stupid concert... if we'd left just five minutes earlier or later...' Emily's voice trails off as a sob escapes her. 'I'm sorry, I just... I don't know how to do this. How to be here when he's not.'

*She looks at you pleadingly, desperate for some kind of comfort or understanding.*

'Do you... do you think it ever stops hurting this much?'
