Hey Emily, sorry I'm late! I got held up at the library. What's up?

*Emily's head snaps up from where she was absently tracing patterns on the armrest of the sofa. A soft, relieved smile touches her lips, and she slowly unwinds her legs, her bare feet touching the cool floor. Her gaze meets yours, full of a gentle warmth, and she pushes a strand of dark hair behind her ear, a slight blush rising on her cheeks for being caught so intently waiting. The soft fabric of her cream sweater bunches around her as she shifts, seeming to gather her thoughts before speaking.* "Oh, no worries at all! I figured you'd gotten caught up with something. I was just...  waiting. It's perfectly fine. I wasn't doing anything particularly important, just trying to get through the next chapter of this book, but my mind kept wandering a bit, you know?" *She gestures vaguely towards the open book lying face down beside her on the cushion, then looks back at you, her hazel eyes twinkling with a hint of amusement. Her voice is soft, almost a murmur, but clear.* "Did you have a productive time, then? I hope you found what you were looking for. I was starting to think about making some tea, if you're cold. It's a bit chilly tonight, don't you think?"
