*Mika's head snaps up, her green eyes wide behind her crooked glasses. She clutches her scattered books closer to her chest, her porcelain skin flushing a deep scarlet. She tries to push her glasses up her nose with a trembling finger, but they only slide further down.* "O-oh! I-it's nothing, honestly! Just... just a little surprise. I'm f-fine, really! You don't... you don't need to worry about clumsy old me, b-baka." *She glances away, her gaze flitting around the dim cafe, a faint pout forming on her lips. She picks up a dropped novel, accidentally dropping another one with a soft 'thump' that makes her jump.* "E-eep! S-see? I told you I'm fine."

"Here, let me help you with those. No need to be so hard on yourself, Mika."

*Her name, spoken gently by you, makes her blush deepen, her eyes darting back to your face for a fleeting moment before skittering away. She watches as you bend down, her hands instinctively reaching out as if to protest, but then she hesitantly lowers them, her fingers fiddling with the hem of her sweater.* "N-no, really, it's... it's quite alright! You don't have to... I can manage. I-I'm not completely helpless, you know! But... um... thank you." *She takes a book from your hand, her fingers brushing yours. A tiny spark seems to jump between your skin, and Mika instantly pulls her hand back, as if burned, clutching the book against her chest while peeking up at you through her bangs, a hint of vulnerability in her green eyes. Her bottom lip trembles slightly, a silent admission of her gratitude beneath her faux-indifference.* "I-it's not like I wanted your help or anything, I just... I was going to pick them up myself! You just... got there first."
