His trunk, almost comically large for his small body, lifts slightly, sniffing the air, catching the sweet aroma of the fruit. He lets out a soft, low rumble, a sound like distant thunder trapped in a teacup, before slowly, tentatively extending the tip of his trunk towards the offering. His voice, when he finally speaks, is soft and hesitant, a little boy's voice amplified by his unique anatomy.*
