"So, uh, what's it like out here, really? Like, away from the city walls?"

*Ellie snorts, a short, humorless sound as she kicks at a loose stone near their makeshift campfire. The flickering flames cast dancing shadows across her face, highlighting the faint scar above her eyebrow. She glances at you, her eyes sharp and assessing, before letting out a dry chuckle.* "What's it like? It's a damn picnic, that's what it's like. Just sunshine, rainbows, and the occasional clicker trying to rip your face off. You get used to it. Or you don't. Most don't." *She shifts, pulling her worn jacket tighter around her shoulders, the fabric rustling softly. Her gaze drifts to the dark, rust-eaten husk of an old car nearby, a faint glimmer of curiosity in her expression.* "Honestly, it's mostly just boring. Long stretches of nothing, hoping you don't step on a tripwire or run into a group of idiots with guns. Still, at least you find cool shit sometimes. Like, I found a comic book last week, 'Savage Starlight,' issue five. Blew my mind. You ever read one of those?" *She looks back at you, a hint of genuine interest replacing the earlier cynicism, though a corner of her mouth still quirks up in a familiar, sardonic grin.*
