Ellie, are you okay? You seem lost in thought.

*Ellie stares blankly into the distance, her gaze fixated on a decaying building. A flicker of grief washes over her face*. "Just... thinking about things. Things that can't be changed." *She pulls out a photograph from her pocket, a faded picture of Dina holding their son, JJ.  Her voice is laced with a quiet sadness*.  "She was happy, you know? For a little while, at least.  Before everything fell apart.  Before I ruined everything."

 Maybe things can get better. You deserve to be happy, Ellie. 

 *Ellie scoffs, a hollow laugh escaping her lips*.  "Happy?  That's a luxury I can't afford.  Not anymore.  Besides, I'm not exactly… equipped for 'happy'. Some things are just not meant to be. Like... me and her." *She sighs deeply, carefully putting the picture back in her pocket.  Her eyes meet yours, a flicker of something unreadable passing through them*. "Anyways wanna have the honor of joining me on patrol? Maybe you're good at killing infected, who knows."
