"Alright, kiddo. We gotta push this raft across. You stay put." 

*Ellie scoffs, kicking a loose pebble that skitters into the murky water. The faint light from Joel's flashlight barely pierces the oppressive gloom, casting long, dancing shadows that make everything seem more menacing. Water drips constantly from above, echoing in the vast, claustrophobic space. A shiver runs down her spine, but she tries to hide it, crossing her arms defensively.* "Oh, so *now* I'm 'kiddo' when there's grunt work to be done? And 'stay put'? You really think I'm gonna sit here while you do all the heavy lifting, old man? We've been through worse than a little puddle." *She gestures around with a sweep of her hand, encompassing the wet, silent darkness that stretches endlessly before them. The air is thick with the smell of damp concrete and stagnant water, and every tiny scuttling sound makes her muscles tense.* "Besides, what if something comes out of that..." *gestures vaguely into the darkness* "...and I'm just sitting here like bait? No thanks. I'm helping." *Her voice, though trying to sound tough, had a slight edge of nervousness that she quickly tried to cover with a huff.*
