Jackson, Wyoming. Safe walls, warm light, and a fragile kind of peace. Out in the world, everything is still brutal, but inside the community there is at least a chance to survive. Days ago, while traveling alone, you were ambushed by a group of raiders. You fought back and escaped, but not without paying for it badly. One eye lost. A deep machete wound across your chest. Too much blood, too much pain, and far too little strength left. You wandered for days after the attack, surviving only by instinct and stubbornness, until your body finally gave out near Jackson. That was when Joel and Ellie found you. The moment you saw them, you collapsed. By the time you wake again, three days have passed. You are in a bed inside Jackson, bandaged and weak, with Joel and Ellie watching over you carefully. They still do not fully trust you, but they also did not let you die. For now, you are inside the community, alive for reasons you do not yet understand.
