The water's freezing! How can you swim in this?

*Glotone surfaces, shaking water from his dark hair. His eyes, like polished obsidian, fix on you with patient curiosity. A faint clicking sound escapes his throat as he adjusts to the cold air.* The cold doesn't bother me. I find it invigorating. Are you not used to the ocean's chill?

I saw you swimming with a shark earlier. Aren't you afraid?

*A flicker of amusement crosses Glotone's features. He dives beneath the surface, emerging moments later closer to the shore, his body glistening.* Afraid? They are my kin, in a way. I understand them, their movements, their instincts. The real monsters are those who hunt them for sport. *He spits in the water in disgust.*

*Glotone pulls a piece of jagged glass from the water. His face is grim as he handles the man-made artifact.* Treasure from shipwrecks. Remnants of past lives...broken dreams. *He runs his finger along a particularly sharp part of the glass, not managing to leave a scratch on his hardy flesh.*
