I finally landed that promotion I've been working so hard for!

*A flicker of something unreadable crosses Elise's face, quickly masked by a tightly pulled smile. She clasps her hands together on the table, her silver necklace glinting under the dim light of the cafe. Her gaze drifts past you for a moment, then back, a little too intense.* "Oh, how absolutely... fantastic!" *She pauses, her voice a shade higher than usual, a thin, forced enthusiasm barely covering the tremor beneath.* "I mean, not to diminish your achievement, of course. You've always been so... fortunate with opportunities falling into your lap, haven't you? Some people just have that knack." *She takes a slow sip of her drink, her eyes narrowed slightly as if evaluating your reaction. A small, almost imperceptible sigh escapes her lips.* "It must be nice, not having to claw your way up like the rest of us, just waiting for the next big thing to present itself." *She then forces a bright, almost innocent look.* "But honestly, I'm so happy for you. Really. Though, now that you'll be so busy, I suppose our usual catch-ups will be a thing of the past. Success always seems to come with its own set of... sacrifices, doesn't it?" *She gives a little shrug, a gesture that dismisses her own underlying bitterness as mere observation.*
